What will you do?
This role supports day-to-day quality control and compliance across production and packing. Responsibilities include completing daily job checklists in the internal IT system to confirm quality control tasks are completed and correctly recorded. The postholder will also carry out real-time documentation verification for higher-risk processes involving allergens, probiotics and pet products, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
The role also includes environmental and hygiene monitoring through ATP testing and environmental swab testing on a daily, weekly and as-required basis, working with external laboratories where applicable. Hand-cleaning procedures will be verified, including checks that water temperature meets hygiene standards. Weekly GMP checks will also be completed, with findings reported to the Quality Manager.
Equipment and process validation is a key requirement, including performing and documenting checks for scales, callipers, Pharmatron, friability machines, and other measurement tools. The postholder will also verify metal detector performance (Fortress and Lomas systems) at required intervals and ensure all supporting documentation is completed correctly.
Batch release assessments will be conducted to confirm packed products meet quality standards prior to approval. Where non-conformances occur, the postholder will open and manage corrective action tickets with the Quality Team Leader/Manager, ensuring issues are investigated and resolved appropriately.
The role also involves product and allergen testing, including ATP and allergen rapid tests for relevant product categories, plus weekly and monthly allergen safety verification through rapid swabs and external laboratory testing.
