Helen & Douglas House is a pioneering children’s hospice based in Oxford and was the first of its kind in the world.
The charity offers tailored palliative, respite, end-of-life and bereavement care for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions, always putting families at the heart of their support.
The hospice consistently earns an “Outstanding” rating from the Care Quality Commission, reflecting its exceptional standard of care. Through fundraising, volunteering and community partnerships, they enrich the lives of terminally ill children and their families.
Life for African Mothers is dedicated to reducing maternal mortality in Sub-Saharan Africa though the provision of life-saving medications and training for midwives and healthcare workers.
They focus especially on preventing and treating postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) and eclampsia by delivering essential medicines and conducting skills-sharing workshops in countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
LFAM has shipped medication, trained many midwives and works closely with hospital partners to improve outcomes for mothers and newborns. Their work highlights both prevention and practical capacity building in low-resource settings.
